I don't see these very often. My thanks to Ian The Staymaker has put me right on this piece. A removable train designed to button onto a short petticoat (i.e. above floor length) These are seen fairly regularly in ladies’ magazines or newspapers of the period that I have but not being high fashion do not appear consistently. Starching and ironing a train piece like this would be easier than preparing a whole petticoat with built in train.*
The white cotton with two buttonholes on the back waistband with ties below, six gathered ruffles, machine sewn.

Very good. Just one area of blood? stains to the left of the third tear 3 cm square plus another spot on the edge.
