Beautiful pale gold changeable silk. A frock coat and breeches. The breeches are slightly old fashioned having a very wide fall front and therefore probably worn by an older man*.
The changeable gold/pale green silk taffeta coat with deep standing collar, the back pointed, the curving front with nine self covered buttons, two buttonholes, deep flapped pockets, the back skirt with two similar buttons and pleating, central opening, lined in coarse linen.
The breeches with fall front secured by three large self covered buttons, opening to reveal two very large linen interior pockets, two further large buttons to secure the front, slit pockets to the waistband with smaller covered buttons, the lower legs with four similar buttons and fastening for a buckle, the back with large tab fastening, the breeches with generous back gathered into the waistband.
Waistband aprox 36 in; 92 cm waist
Coat -There are areas of faint stains but they are not so visible because of the changeant silk. The back collar and area below are marked due to the hair / wig.The right cuff had been lowered and so created a fold when put back in its original position. Few marks on the linen, but no underarm markings.
Breeches - In very good condition as is the linen. One small area 50 cm x 50 cm of wear to the back right hand side at the top. Ask for photos.
