A really lovely example with beautiful darning samples.
the central rectangle with a crown above HC and VF below ANNO 1855, surrounded by darning work crosses in a variety of stiches, using mid green and brown, cream, pale blue and red silks, on a natural cotton ground.

Very very good. You will notice in the top right hand corner the samples have been embroidered right into the corner. This piece has not been cut.
