Very unusual technique hand blocking with gold pigment. You have to look hard to realise this is an Eccleisastical textile.
The claret silk ground woven with an Ecclesiastical cross surrounded by small leaves, overprinted with gold pigment by hand blocks, one selvedge.
33 x 7 1/2 in; 84 x 19 cm.
