Some raised work on this magnificent embroidery.
The crimson silk velvet ground appliqué with a central acanthus leaf within strapwork scrolls, leaves and exotic flowers, all worked in gold and silver file with some raised work padding, backed with red cotton.
17 x 21 in; 44 x 54 cm
Overall very good. A little of the silk velvet background fabric is worn and the stuffing can be seen in the central raised work motif near the centre top, and to the flanking motifs.
