Italian Filé Velvet Runner

Highly useable and most attractive. Ideal as a table or chest runner or as a wall hanging.

Description

The crimson velvet applied with gold and silver filé urns and scrolling strapwork and leaves, the three borders with curving shapes, short red looped silk fringing.,lined with red cotton.

Condition

Very good. Obviously there is some tarnishing to the metal thread, but as you will see from the photos this is mainly to the silver thread.  The end with the border has a split and wear 4 in; 10 cm long. I think I would just leave this, after all it is 425 years old.
