This fabric was possibly woven in Florence and would have been used for furnishing. A lovely piece which would make a nice present. It would look good mounted, which we can undertake for you. All you then have to do is get it framed. Or it could be centre of a cushion with some red velvet and braid.
The centre with a crown flanked by pairs of birds with outstretched wings perching on leaves, above large curling acanthus leaves, the bottom with inward looking birds flanking a fruit, all in red silk on a corded gold coloured silk and linen ground.
13 1/4 x 6 3/4 in; 34 x 17 cm.
