Tulip and Rose was designed by William Morris and registered on 20 January 1876.
I also have another 4 lengths of this design.
The thick 3 ply woven wool and linen has terracotta roses and full blown tulips in shaded pale blue with some smaller ochre half tulips, all on an indigo background.
6ft 8 in x 30 in; 1.90 x 69 cm;
Repeat 27 1/2 in; 70 cm. There are 2 1/2 repeats.
Would be fine to cut and cover a chair as it is not perfect.You should be able to see the right hand side has some damage. This measures 12 in; 30 cm long. On the reverse there is a patch. See photos. Also the top 4 in; 10 cm is slightly pulled.
William Morris Textiles. Linda Parry p 210, no 18. Circ.390A-1970.
Similar lengths are held at the Cooper Hewitt museum, New York.
