I think the opening is at the front! Perhaps the shoulder straps are later, but what are they for? Certainly not to wear.

Description

The waistband  secured at the front with a covered button, embroidered in red cotton with 10 and roman numerals ? III and III, a large inserted patch to either side of the front opening, very wide and long legs, the bottoms with four pintucks and some broderie anglais tri, shoulder tapes.

Condition

Can't. read that first roman numeral. I would say these were hardly worn, if at all. No marks at all.
