Beautiful colours with Ottoman/Turkish design. Probably dyed and printed by Thomas Wardle of Leek for Libertys.


Cataloguing

Hand block printed on a tussore silk, the central square with flowers emerging from an eastern central motif surrounded by a cusped cross, the spandrels with C scrolls and flowers, the central ground of plain apricot, with a deep broder of tulips and stylised flowers, a similar but smaller inner border, all in shades of soft mauve, apricot, green and a mid blue.

Condition

You will see there is a little colour run here and there. The bedcover colours have not run, but it has been laid next to another fabric which has. It does not detract from the cover and is still really beautiful.
