Very unusual being flat with no oval iron ring to raise the sole from the ground. No left or right.


Cataloguing

The latchets of black slightly shiny leather, tied with an original narrow silk ribbon, the flat soles with elongated oval toes, all hand stitched.

Condition

One of the latchets has a slight scuff mark, which could easily be rectified.


Comments

Shoes. The Costume Accessories Series. June Swan p 38 mentions:  Pattens continued, adapting to lower heels by abandoning the wedge, leaving a flat sole, the toe shape matching the shoes. Silk ties need removing and steaming.
