The rich blue satin embroidered to the lower fronts each with an exotic bird embroidered in shades of brown with a red beak sitting on a island, surrounded by a peonies tree with large blooms, a pair of small black birds above, the back similar, the wide sleeves with peony blooms to the reverse, a small flower spray to the shoulders, the brocade woven borders withinin fine pink, and green cotton strips, three chased brass ball buttons and black loops below a mandarin collar. pale lemon lining.



The embroidery is unusual in that the peonies and foliage are worked in fine couched cords in coral, pink, green with gold couching outlines, the birds in fine floss silks.
