Ivory Pashmina
Mid 19th c
I am being cautious with dating the plain shawls. At one end above the fringe there is a double line of weaving, presumably for strengthening purposes. This shawl has been reduced from a larger one. The fringing at the two ends is different. Ideal for wearing.
Cataloguing
The ivory pashmina woven on a drawloom with a herringbone weave, short fringe to both ends, a double line of weaving above one fringe.
5ft 3 in x 3ft 10 in; 1.6 x 1. 17 m
Condition
There is one slight light brown mark near the fringing on one side 1 cm in diameter. The other side near the fringe has an increible darn, invisible mending at its best 2.5 x 2.5 cm. Quite undetectable.
