Embroidered & Quilted Skirt
Queen Anne (1702-14)

A charming example of a Queen Anne period (1665-1714) embroidered and false quilted unpicked skirt, which could quite easily be sewn back into a skirt. False quilted because there is no inner wadding and therefore not tecnically quilted. It just looks quilted.

Provenance: From the private collection of Roderick and Valentine Butler, antique dealers, who lived in Marwood House, High Street, Honiton, East Devon.

Cataloguing
